My vague recollection was that the board is phpbb? And the front page was sql or something.

Front page is phpBB too. It makes a SQL call somewhere during the page load that has an error in it and crashes the page. All the error logs I looked through didn't have any more specific details though about which call is actually failing, so it's a needle in the haystack to find it, and I'm not very familiar with debugging hosted sites like this without direct access to the backend.
