Crawford is a bum and I'm bitter because I lost money on them =\

Crawford is just ok, I wouldn't consider him an elite goaltender by any means. But they have won a cup with him and Detroit did a bunch of times with Osgood so you can't really count them out based on average goaltending.

That said I have Nashville winning the West in my bracket so fuck Crawford and Chicago, and I hope Weber's injury isn't serious.

The average goalie model works well if you're paying them as such. Problem is Crawford is making near-elite money and has a huge cap hit on a team that is strapped for it. Can't be making ~$6 mil a year and be giving up the goals he does.

That's true I forgot how much he was making. Osgood made 2-3mil which is perfect for someone like him or Crawford. I think the Kane/Toews contracts were huge mistakes as well, those 2 players are something like 21% of their total cap, there's now way they'll be able to renew contracts for their great support players that you need to win cups.

Those Arizona-Buffalo games near the end of the season sure were franchise changing. Arizona tried to win more and now they get Hannafin instead of Eichel. Sucks.

Edmonton will probably try to trade Pittsburgh's #16 pick for a D-man.

I have mixed feelings about this. Like McDavid is an unreal talent and I'm super excited to watch him play. But on the other hand I have absolutely no confidence what so ever that oilers management has any clue how to build around talent. I see lots of comments about them ruining the best talent since Crosby and that's bullshit, they're not going to ruin the player. I'm more worried that they fail to build a support system around him and continue to lose.

What I do know is that if they fuck this up I'm legitimately done cheering for them.

Oilers haven't had an issue developing their star players. They haven't drafted or developed ANYONE ELSE but them is the problem.
