Re: 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
Once I got away from all the "my team vs your team" (the garbage I'm talking about), I've enjoyed watching sports on TV far more than when I really gave a shit about who was playing. I know I'm the odd man out on this. Maybe my fucked up opinion is because I've been involved in hockey/basketball/football at very high levels so I have different understandings of the games. I dunno, but I do know not many people will ever see it my way haha

Re: 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
It's honestly admirable to love the game in its purest form. I played baseball for 14 years, but my love for professional baseball is the lowest. I sadly got out of football in favor of track in middle school but have my highest passion for college and professional football. From a purely "can watch two teams go at it with no care for either team" I have to say college football has me on that. I can watch just about anyone play, but will never miss WVU playing (8 years straight, no missed home games). Basketball, I couldn't care less, but Steph vs LeBron has me excited just to watch.Marko wrote:Once I got away from all the "my team vs your team" (the garbage I'm talking about), I've enjoyed watching sports on TV far more than when I really gave a shit about who was playing. Except NCAA basketball. That shit is awful. Yeah they're good players, but fuck man, play with real fucking rules.

Hey, NCAA football is ok - if you exclude the rapes going unreported, the untold boosters paying for kids to come to school, and the grades being paid for. On the football field, it's ok. Parity is low, but that's just how she rolls.
NCAA basketball seems to be like anyone can win at any time.

1 foot inbounds and overtime rules say otherwise
Re: 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
But these aren't game-defining rules like basketball. These matter in maybe 1% of games.Melbu wrote:1 foot inbounds and overtime rules say otherwise
Re: 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
College football overtime rules are the best. I wouldn't mind seeing it shoved back to the 35 yard line to force longer field goals on failed touchdown drives, but I much prefer it to a coin flip. I think they should change it to two feet in in college.Melbu wrote:1 foot inbounds and overtime rules say otherwise

2-0 bitches!!
Teams down 2-0 come back to win only 12.8% of the time. It's looking good for a Pittsburgh cup! Props to SJ's goalie - dude played crazy good.

15 DOWN, 1 TO GO! Our first opportunity to win the cup at home. Teams up 3-1 are 31-1 in Stanley Cup Finals.
Re: 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
Wild 2nd period. Finally got some time away during Annual Training at Ft McCoy to watch Game 6.
Re: 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
Been an awesome game so far
Re: 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
Funny how every year there's just a dominant team that goes on a tear. Pittsburgh never looked like the worse team this series.
Grats Zag/Jules. Happy for Hags and Daley.

Re: 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs
That god damn third period felt like it'd never end. That penalty kill took it all out of SJ. Pretty pumped for them to make it to their first Stanley Cup. Hope they get one of their own soon on one of our down years.
Enjoyed this thread with ya'll. I'm a MUCH bigger football fan, so we'll see how it all goes down this fall/winter. Throwing in the towel on the Pirates. Shit's awful.
Jules, don't go down town. I saw cops in riot gear. They are ready. I've heard four sirens on the North Shore already.

Fucking Conn Smythe to Crosby though? C'mon. Murray or even Couture deserved that a lot more. Oh well. I guess the Penguins need to fire their coaches every season now.
