Doing fantasy again this year? Put a little money down this season!

I'm not running it again - you guys sucked ass and only like 2 people out of 10 kept their lineups active past November last year.

If someone else wants to set it up I'll join, or if people really commit, but last year was comically bad.

The draft system I talked about before the playoffs works way better imo since there's no maintenance. We do a snake draft and pick players, can set rules like need 4 D and 1-2 goalies etc. Setup a point system like goals and assists count for a single point, goalies wins 2 and a shutout 3. Everyone picks their teams (no repeats) and that's it. It gives you a little more incentive to look up scores at the end of the night but you don't have to follow injuries and set lineups. I do this kind of draft with friends every playoffs with top 2 getting the money.

I just lose interest so quickly in a full season while I'm here. I've got too many other things that take time away from following any of the games, and if I'm not watching games several times a week I don't pay attention to news/scores/fantasy, so I'm one of the terrible ones from last year. I'd be down to do a playoff draft when the time comes.

That's my problem with fantasy drafts too which is why I enjoy the system we use. It's a fantasy draft lite, set it and forget it. But it still gives incentive to watch scores of games and cheer for certain teams because you have a player or two picked. We usually only do it for playoffs since it's a much smaller player pool but it can technically work for an entire season. You just need to make a few more rules like have to pick 2 rookies or something like that. We usually keep it to 10 players per team too so we don't spend 6 hours drafting and by the time you're on the last few picks you're scrambling for guys who might get 20 points all season.

That sounds promising, is it a website you use for this?

I haven't been in control of it for a few years but when I did yes there was a website I would just setup everyone's team based on the draft, set the parameters for points (can include things like plus/minus, pim etc) and then it just auto updates with everyone's score.

I setup a dummy pool and it does exactly what it needs to, all we need to do is decide the parameters for points/players and then do an actual draft.

+1 for the smaller team. I know pretty much the rangers players + the stars. Having a 20 player teams sucks.

Not a week to week thing, everyone drafts their team and that's all really. All you do is brag when your guy gets 4 points in a night. Honestly it works a lot better for playoffs but seasons work too, helps if there's money on the line.
