Sweet, a hockey thread! Sorry I'm late, I'd be down for any bracket/draft you guys want to organize. I just barely missed the huge prize of my regular season pool due to injuries :(

The torture of another Oiler season is over. Time for the offseason which has been the same for the past 9 years. First the fan base will hate on the team and demand changes. MacT will draft another top prospect and follow that up with some minor signings of the teams RFA'S and maybe a UFA or two. Then MacT will make a couple trades to bring in more veteran players into the mix, yet he will continue to refuse to shake up the core of the team because he believes there's something there. Later in the offseason the fan base will start to forget what a horrendous season we just had and start hyping up the new team. Maybe this will be the year the team finally comes into their own identity. Surely our goaltending has to be better this season since it pretty much cannot get worse. The Oiler optimism dial will be turned way up http://i.imgur.com/mLYD8o6.jpg

And then as November rolls around and Oilers are in an insurmountable hole and are basically eliminated from the playoffs, we'll start all over again.

But this is a playoff thread so I'm done ranting, I'll be doing as I do every playoff season and cheering for my 2nd team in Detroit, although they play TB in the first round and the reason I fell in love with Detroit in the first place was because of Yzerman.

As for the potential draft pool thing I know some people said they were interested, I'm not sure what the count was but I assume we had enough to do it. If we do it we'd have to set a date and time to all sit down and physically make the picks, it should only take an hour or so to do it.

Right before or after a raid might work

I made a bracket league on the NHL site: http://bracketchallenge.nhl.com/#/league/66733

If we were to do a draft, it would have to be before Wednesday when the games start. I'm free anytime after 7:30pm EST tomorrow and Tuesday.

Also.. playing the Isles makes me nervous. They are a great team, but young. This is their 2nd playoff appearance in 8 years, hungry team. Their core doesn't have the playoff experience that Washington does. Even though the teams are close, I'd give the edge to Washington in 6 or 7 based on experience. Washington has done it plenty of times. I think the Isles will come into their own in the next 2-3 seasons and be very solid playoff team.

The ONLY Wildcard is Halak. I still remember the President's Cup season in 2010 and Halak stealing the first round from us. To this day I still don't like hearing that name.
