I wouldn't though. From here on out it's all just a bonus. LA and Boston didn't make the playoffs, beat Penguins, and beat Caps. What happens against Tampa is mostly irrelevant. Judging from the season results, Rangers won't do well, but at this point I almost don't care. I do love to showboat after winning though. You should have seen what I did to my Flyers friends last year. That's what sports are about when you don't play yourself. I would never do that to anybody I played against. Also, my company is headquartered in the DC area, so they were giving me tons of shit when it went to 1-3. This could not have worked out better.

You're the exact definition of a shitty supporter, pretty much the exact opposite of what sports are, whether you play or not. Trash talk is always around between fans until the end of the game, then you bow out gracefully, especially after an end like this and when Martyr already said good game. You on the other hand chose to be a complete cunt.

And this is coming from someone who couldn't give a single fuck about this particular game or sport.

It was a good game and good series, no doubt. That's how it goes though, shitty supporter or not, I support and that includes rubbing it in a bit after the fact. I would expect nothing less from Caps fans had we lost, just carry over from the build up tension throughout the series. I probably will be done after today unless something hilarious comes up.

@Cally: Good? He is not great in playoffs and was slowing Stamkos down so far, although he did get 5 in 3 against us this season.

MSL is done, dont' expect much from him. He got moved off the top line near the end of the third, although he did get put back on it in OT

Worse than that, he was sat in the 3rd, Miller played both 1st and 4th. Could have been due to Orpik's hit that he half dodged of course, but yeah, not holding my breath, just hoping.

Wonder if Boyle will be able to go. He has been sub par so far in the playoffs, wouldn't mind seeing Hunwick get some playing time.

Yes! Put him with Staal to cover his crazy pinches and it could reward us quite a bit, especially against a fast Tampa team. I really liked Hunwick whenever he played, while Boyle seemed sub-par for the most part.

He would most likely be paired with Yandle.

I didn't like Staal - Klein, Yandle - Boyle to be honest. Staal - Boyle, Yandle - Klein was much better imho as Yandle is an offensive threat if used right and not always defensively super focused, although so far he did well apart from some things here and there. Also, Klein has a ripper and Yandle is great for setting him up while covering Klein a bit in the speed department. We'll see. Boyle was on the ice for the post-game celebration, maybe he was just shaken up.

I am also curious how Tampa will deal with an actual defense. They had the easier road to the ECF for sure and I wonder if the Rangers will be able to get speed going against them while containing their two lines (something we're generally decent at). Could be a really fun series, but it could also go into 'Don't lose' for both teams. I doubt it'll get tenser than the Caps series (thank god for that), I am not scared of anybody as much as Ovi. Stamkos is a beast, but at least not 230+ lbs of beast that will murder our defense while not scoring.

hes not the only one, there are those of us who Shit talk for other sports (myself baseball soccer and to a lesser extent football) but I have the ability to say congrats to the better team and simply let it go when its all said and done.

Meh, I love my team and I'll cheer them on any day. But I don't shit talk other fans or players. Even if the Caps had won, Lundqvist is still an amazing goalie and the Rangers are still a really good team.

I want to see my team be successful. But I don't want to see other people/teams be unsuccessful and/or get injured.

Now I'm just waiting for NHL 16 so I can go back to playing in my league again. Stupid NHL 15 not having EASHL.

Martyr you should the the Lightning crusade, they will avenge the Caps! I really hope the Rangers 1 goal games streak ends, I don't think Bishop can compete with Lundqvist with the soft goals he lets in. I think they'll have trouble like they did against Detroit but they've doubled their playoff experience so it'll be interesting.
